Responsibilities:
• Conduct and review Operational Risk Assessments (e.g Design Safety Reviews, Constructability Reviews, dropped objects studies)
• Understanding Workscopes and generation of CTRs (Cost Time Requirement) for execution of tasks
• Good understanding of Safety Systems on Offshore/ Onshore Assets (eg, Emergency Firefighting systems, Lifeboats & Life rafts, Fire & Gas, ESD, Essential Services & Generators Helideck, Evacuation & Escape)
• Generation of Deliverables, Safety Screening, Terms of Reference, Safety close-out reports, Action Tracking and close-out.
• Experience in demonstrating ALARP for projects throughout lifecycle and challenge decisions where necessary.
• Technical safety overview of modifications projects etc. (e.g. review of project generated safety studies)
• Co-ordination of and participation in technical safety risk assessment activities (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, • etc.)
• Project management of activities undertaken by 3rd party Consultants (e.g Phast Modelling, CFD)
• Understanding and experience of hazardous area drawings and assessments
• Provision of technical safety and risk management support and advice to operational and project personnel
• Support incident investigations for process safety related events
• Liaison with regulatory authorities and other relevant external bodies where required
• Champion a culture of Process Safety excellence at the company
Requirements:
• An engineering degree plus a formal technical safety / risk management qualification - e.g., MSc in Safety & Reliability Engineering or extensive experience in Process Safety
• Chartered or working thorough. • Chartership via an Engineering Council professional body e.g., IChemE, IMechE
• The successful candidate should understand the various phenomenological models - e.g. Dispersion; Explosion overpressure; Heat radiation, etc.
• The successful candidate should have a good working knowledge of QRA, FERA, EERA, Passive and Active Fire Protection, and Human Factors.
• Experience in HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, SIL Assessment, Bow-Tie, ALARP demonstration, etc.
