Working Pattern: Permanent / Full Time

As the Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Possess experience performing studies, FEED and detail design of structural fabrications in an EPC environment or client role.
  • Be experienced in producing deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.
  • Liaise closely with other disciplines to ensure all equipment requirements are addressed in the design, specification of equipment, construction sequencing and commissioning.
  • Be technically competent in own discipline and actively maintain own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
  • Provide value adding knowledge to constructability reviews and take consideration of layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, utilities, and maintainability.
  • Have experience coordinating and controlling vendor document submissions and reviews.
  • Be skilled in designing lifting arrangements and development of installation routes.

Location: Aberdeen or Glasgow – hybrid working 3 days in the office with flexibility to work from home for 2 days.

About You

You’ll have experience of:

  • EPC, Brownfield and Greenfield projects.
  • Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking 
  • Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines 
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards
  • Coordinating and controlling vendor document submissions and reviews.
  • Producing weight control reports.
  • Participation in safety studies such as HAZID and design safety reviews.
  • Generating and checking calculations against design code and best practice.
  • IT Packages such as AutoCAD and Plant 3D would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages, STAAD and Mathcad is desirable.

Qualifications

  • BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred
  • understand the application of Autodesk Design products 
  • Competent in the use of MS Office applications 
  • Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS & MIST (advantageous)
