Working Pattern: Permanent / Full Time

As the Lead Electrical Designer, you will: 
  • Aids the project in creating schedules, time assignment and resource allocation
  • Responsible for ensuring designs meet project requirements
  • Input to project plans
  • Identify areas of concern during any project or study
  • Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
  • Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
  • Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore (not essential)

About You

You’ll have experience of:
  • Producing, checking and approving deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.
  • Leading a team of designers and coordinating work tasks to achieve required plan dates or be a senior / principal engineer looking for a step up in their career.
  • Managing design team budgets, produce scope estimates and recognising and controlling scope change.
  • Demonstrable Experience and Knowledge in Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
  • Electrical design experience (Oil & Gas preferred but not essential) in delivery of Electrical projects

- AUTOCAD (and RastorCAD)
- Microstation
- Bluebeam
 
Technical experience required
Experience producing, checking and approving the below design deliverables;
- Block Diagrams
- Single Line Diagrams
- Termination Diagrams
- Interconnection Diagrams
- Electrical Equipment Layout Diagrams
- Cable Schedules
- Cable Routing Drawings
- Bill of Materials
- Material Requisitions
 
Demonstrable Experience and Knowledge in Electrical equipment cabling particularly;
- Switchgear (HV, MV and LV)
- Power Transformers
- Motors (all types)
- Generators (all types)
- Variable Speed/Frequency Drives (VSD or VFD)
- Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS)
- Low Voltage Distribution Boards
- Lighting and Small Power Equipment (e.g. Lighting, Sockets, Trace 
   Heating)
 
Demonstrable Experience and Knowledge in Electrical systems modifications below;
- Main and Emergency Generation
- Electrical Distribution Network
- Lighting and Small Power Circuits
- Trace Heating Circuits
- UPS (Systems and Circuits)
- UCPs
