As a Trainee Piping Designer, you will be working as part of a design team and will undertake relevant engineering and design training, coaching and mentoring to develop drafting and design skills to a required level. This will include production of design deliverables and gaining an understanding of related design codes and drafting skills both manual and using AutoCAD/ Autodesk.

 

Working Pattern: Permanent / Full-time

As a Trainee Piping Designer, you will: 

  • Design deliverable draughting as directed, and within expected capabilities and/or training
  • Develop AutoCAD drafting skills under guidance and tuition from Designers, Senior Designers within the team as instructed by the Lead Designer
  • As build, and input to project close out activities as directed, and within expected capabilities and/or training
  • Assist with other, general project activities, within capabilities and/or training, when requested to do so, and strive to gain a wider knowledge of the Discipline specific requirements through self-learning and proactively asking questions of experienced peers
  • Ensure all Company assisted training is passed and completed in agreed timescales and relevant internal systems are updated with specific training progress and updates in a timely manner
  • Develop an awareness of PD&MS Integrated Management System, particularly preparation of drawings and archiving of Project Drawings.
  • Ensure professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner
  • Adhere to the company integrated management system
  • Comply with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
  • Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles
  • Ensure unsafe activities are challenged
  • Adhere to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties

About You

The ideal candidate will have:
 
  • NC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3 National 5 grades (or equivalent) at C grade or better including, Maths, English and a Science/Technical subject
  • Basic training in Autodesk design products
  • Offshore certification
  • Excellent written and spoken English
